Open Computer Lab

Need some help with your computer questions?
Oroville Adult Education’s Open Computer Lab is free of charge and available on a walk-in basis.  An instructor is available to offer assistance, but basic computer knowledge is a requirement. Students must register and sign the user agreement each semester. Lab hours subject to change and availability. Open entry. Summer hours available. Supported programs:

Computer Operator/Introduction
There are no pre-requisites for this popular, beginning course that teaches basic computer operation. Learn about icons, windows, menus, copying files, storing files and much more in this information-packed class. Certificate of completion available for those who successfully complete the course. 8 weeks. (Seniors 65+ may take these daytime classes for material fee only.

Computer for the Clueless
Computer Applications for the Clueless is a class that is ideal for the individual who has little or no computer instruction. Course covers three areas: COMPUTING FUNDAMENTALS (Hardware, software, operating systems) KEY APPLICATIONS (Word processing, spreadsheets) INTERNET (Network fundamentals, email). This course will also prepare the student for Internet and Computer Core Certification (IC³), a valid and relevant tool to measure proficiency in the latest technologies for school, work and life.

Adobe Photoshop
Could your digital photos use a little help? Learn to use the tools in Adobe Photoshop to fix red eye, crop or rotate a picture, create a panoramic photo, add text and much more in this very fun class.

Multi-Media Designer/Level 1
In this 2-semester program, students will learn how to design, build, and maintain effective communications by using different forms of digital
media. Students will master the use of Adobe Dreamweaver, Flash and Photoshop. Once completed, students are eligible to take the Adobe Certified Associate Certification exam for entry-level employment. Required courses for Certificate: Multi-Media Design Level 2 (offered next semester), C&CR (Catalog, page 22).
