This course provides beginning level American Sign Language instruction. Topics include the manual alphabet and numbers, vocabulary and grammar as well as deaf culture. Students learn through handouts, dialogues, classroom activities and practice.

Intro to eBay

Intro to eBay

Taught by an official eBay “Power Seller”, this class will teach the techniques of successful buying and selling on eBay. Course covers how to open an eBay account, make bids, offer items for sale, collect payment, track bids, watch items, search for items, use PayPal and much more. Learn how to price items based on previous auctions. Students will go through entire sales transactions during the course of this class. (Students should register with eBay before class begins and instructions on how to do this are provided at registration.)

Tai Chi

Tai Chi is known as the slow-motion routines that people around the world practice daily. Benefits include muscle strengthening, flexibility, and balance control. Using Simplified 24, students learn the fundamentals of hand movements and steps. Wear comfortable shoes and clothing. OAE recommends that students seek their physician’s advice before participating in exercise classes.

Retirement Planning Today

This course blends financial education with life planning to help you build wealth, align your money with your values, and achieve your retirement lifestyle goals. In just two entertaining and informative sessions, you’ll learn what they didn’t teach you in school. Discover five strategies to manage investment risks, eleven ways you may save money on this year’s taxes, important questions to ask before buying insurance coverage, how to invest in and take money out of your company’s retirement plan, as well as determine the savings you need to retire today or in the future. Course includes a 235-page book. Couples may attend for a single fee. Class size is limited, so enroll early.

Beginning Horsemanship

This class is for anyone owning a horse or thinking of acquiring one. From beginning to intermediate, students will learn about the care and handling of horses. Some of the topics include horse handling, equipment, vocabulary, breeds, nutrition, grooming and health taught by an award-winning instructor, Ute Wirth, through demonstration and lecture.

Beading Basics
Learn to make your own earrings, necklaces and bracelets and more in this basic beading class. Instruction includes the proper use of tools, how to use crimp beads, choosing the best stringing material, working with chain, beads and findings. This class is project-based and taught by Lucky Preston, a professional jewelry designer. Supply list provided at enrollment.

Bead Stitching and Weaving
If you can thread a needle, you can learn these three types of seed bead stitches to create beautiful necklaces, lanyards, bracelets and more. Students of all levels may take one or all of these classes taught by professional jewelry maker, Darlene Fultz. Project-based class. Supply list provided upon enrollment.

Glass Bead Making (Lampworking)
Glass bead making (called lampworking) is a type of glasswork that uses a gas fueled torch to melt rods and tubes of colored glass to make decorative beads. This increasingly popular class will teach the student how to make gorgeous beads for jewelry making as a hobby or a business.

Glass Fusion
Glass Fusion, or Glass Fusing, is the process of fusing different colors and types of glass in a kiln which transforms the solid to a molten state. As this is happening, different colors can be added to create functional and decorative glassware or jewelry. The results are stunning (see photo on back cover). Students will learn how to create glass art for a hobby or a business.

Pick a quilting project and get the help you need to complete it. Four Scrapbooks in Four Classes

Have fun making a cute little scrapbook every week for four weeks! We will do either a squash book, mini memory book, matchbook journal, mini album in a tin box, mini tag envelope booklet, star altered book or paper sack book. You’ll have four books to treasure forever. Supply list provided at first class session.
